May Workshop Update

Well, it took me longer than expected to complete my set of graduation cards, but here they are!  I kept everything pretty simple...

Bliss' Cricut cutouts were sooo adorable.  We did a whole assortment: sports, animals, tools, and toys.  Then it was up to us to choose which cutouts we wanted to use on our cards.  We also learned how to make a cool "flip card."  Can't wait until next month!

May Workshop: Guys and Grads

"Guys and Grads"
Sunday, May 19
Nishida residence in Aiea
Kit Cost: $15
RSVP by May 17
bring your tape runner!

To celebrate the guys in our lives, Bliss will be creating a fun set of cards using the Cricut.  We can't wait to try the new cartridge, "Total Sports."  Don't forget, Father's Day is just around the corner!
And since May is graduation season, I'll be working on a simple set of graduation cards. The new 12x12 paper pack, "The Graduate," includes many neutral tones, so I hope to incorporate some color.  Kits will also come with your choice of cardstock - you can celebrate your most recent graduate with his/her school colors.  Hope you can join us for this month's workshop!

Grad Luncheon Tickets

Every year, I've enjoyed the challenge of creating tickets for our church's graduate luncheon.  This luncheon honors our high school graduates, as they move on from the youth department.  Once again, Storybook Creator 4.0 makes designing a snap!  For this year's ticket, I decided to go with the "Cheerful School Additons" digital pack.  Here's my simple creation...

Quick Birthday Favor

At the last minute, my mom decided to make a quick favor for my brother's birthday dinner last Saturday.  I showed her some ideas on Pinterest, and she decided to go with the simple candy bar wrap. She bought the paper, while I created a simple tag on Storybook Creator 4.0.  Thanks to a few foam squares and adhesive tape, we pulled everything together a few hours prior to the dinner.  Whew!

Customizable iPhone Cases

Ever since I got my first smartphone (iPhone 4S) last summer, I've been totally addicted to it.  I had wanted to buy a personalized case from another company, but I couldn't bring myself to pay $59 for it. (Yikes!)  So I was very excited when CM announced that iPhone cases (for 4/4S and 5) would become a part of their digital product line.
$29.95 for the case and insert
Order additional inserts for $12.95
I'm planning to order a couple of product credits now, which will give me some time to create my case and perhaps another as a gift.  If I ever want to switch designs, I can simply create a new insert for $12.95. There are templates available at the Digital Center, or if you have Storybook Creator 4.0, you can create one from scratch. I'm going to have a ton of fun creating my case - stay tuned!

April Workshop Update: Bliss' Cards

Here are Bliss' cards for this month's workshop... Chevrons have been popping up everywhere, so I love that she incorporated them into her design.

Hope you can join us on the afternoon of Saturday, April 21, for some fantastic card making! It'll be shapes and chevrons galore...

April Workshop Sneak Peek

My box of new March/April products arrived last week!  I couldn't wait to try out the new shape maker, as "shapes" is theme of our next workshop.

The shape maker system came with the circle and square cartridges.  A puzzle cartridge is also available.  (Check out the demo video here.) I was pleasantly surprised to find the handle so easy to use - much better than the old shape makers!

Thanks to a ton of ideas that I've been "pinning" one of my Pinterest boards, I had my ideas all set.  I was able to complete 5 out of my 6 cards planned for our April workshop.  I love that we chose the fun, vibrant colors of the new Candy Shop Power Palette to complement our shapes theme.

Can you find all the ways I incorporated circles and squares into these designs?
Hope you can join us for relaxing afternoon of crafting on Sunday, April 21.  You'll have to come to the workshop to see what card #6 will be!
