Don't all of these recipes sound amazing?! I don't cook at all (*gasp*) but reading these recipes does inspire me a little bit. Let me know if you're interested in a recipe book kit... Hope to post pictures of our finished product after tomorrow's workshop!

Recipe Cards
What I love about Storybook Creator Plus (Creative Memories' digital scrapbooking software) the most is that I can become my very own graphic designer. Seriously, this is way better (and more intuitive to use) than Photoshop. I just finished up some recipe cards for our workshop tomorrow. Special thanks to our participants that sent in their recipes! The cards were created using the Nancy O'Dell Recipe digital kit and will be printed as 4x6 photos at Costco.

Dear Kara,
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great idea for integrating technological creativity with writing recipes. Kids could use this program to write out mini experiment materials and procedures, and share the cards with each other. They could even start a learning connect blog to share hypotheses and results with each other. I think this programs sounds easy to use and will allow students to be creative with computer software that will allow a community of integrated learning opportunities for kids.
Tina did a great project in class with her students using PowerPoint presentations of how to make things of interest to share with each other. This software sounds like another resource opportunity for being creative and blessing someone. The kids could write a collection of recipes and sell them in a fund-raiser to contribute to the local community in some way. This would make a great community and citizenship project for teachers to integrate economics into the organization of a fund-raising project through the cost, sale, profit, and distribution of the products. The kids could create the recipe package or school project idea cards and invest the funds needed to print out the cards at Costco, and decide on the packaging design. This would be a great critical thinking activity for students to get involved with sharing ideas and working collaboratively as a class.
Hi Aunty Tammy,

Thank you for reading,
Kara
