January Workshop: 2012 Calendar PicFolio

We'll be doing a repeat of our first workshop of 2011, as we begin a new calendar year of Sunday crafting.  The super versatile PicFolio will be used again, and for 2012,  we'll create calendar inserts using seasonal embellishments from the Cricut.  Your kit will also include a pack of basic supplies (NEW tape runner, precision point adhesive, and foam squares), which will help you complete our projects throughout the year.  Here are more details...

2012 Calendar Workshop
Sunday, January 22 from 1 to 4 pm
Nishida residence in Aiea
Kit #1 | calendar inserts + basic supplies = $30
Kit #2 | calendar inserts + basic supplies + PicFolio (choose from 4 colors) = $45

This is a sneak peak of my February insert.  The calendar, of course, was created in Storybook Creator.  Bliss and I will be designing alternating months.  Hope you can join us for our first workshop of the year!

Happy New Year: Time to Organize!

2012 is here! I'm so excited to continue posting this year and stretch my creativity in the world of scrapbooking, paper crafts, and design.  Since yesterday was a holiday, it was the perfect time to clean out my scrapbooking storage area... I love nothing more than a good purge and getting rid of clutter!  So these are the piles I wanted to go through and re-organize...
Bleh!  All the open packaging, messy baskets, and random collection of items were starting to bother me.  After throwing away some random paper and samples (yup, just got to do it sometimes) and putting supplies in their proper home, I was happy to downsize a little to start off the new year.
Much better!  Also, you may notice that I didn't include the brown (with pink stripes) CM Power Sort Box in this photo.  During my re-organize session, I discovered that it was empty and waiting to be put to use...

... for organizing cards from our workshops!  We've actually sold the Power Sort Box with this purpose in mind, but this is the first time I'm actually organizing my cards in it.  With the help of the P-touch label maker, I added categories to the dividers and quickly filled up the box.  Yay!  I was pleased with the completion of this small project.

Merry Christmas: More Recipe Cards

I hope this Christmas season touched your heart!  I had a wonderful weekend, as it was incredibly relaxing... Things are sooo much better when you finish your shopping on time!  I was blessed to spend time with my dear friends from high school.  We did a mini recipe swap as we gathered for a yummy Christmas brunch on Christmas Eve.  Some friends shared the recipe to a breakfast dish, while others prepared a to-go dessert.  Thanks to Storybook Creator, the recipe cards were a breeze to complete.  Longs had a sale on some mini photo albums, and I found some colors that worked perfectly.  Next year, we might have to keep this tradition alive and add more recipes to the album!

The finished product... the window on the album was a nice touch!

Everyone holds their album and treat they created... the perfect party favor!

Swapping Recipe Cards

As I've admitted in my previous post, cooking is not one of my hobbies.  But after yesterday's workshop, I am so thrilled to have a new batch of recipes!  Bliss' idea for a digital/traditional recipe card swap worked out wonderfully.  Everyone worked hard to decorate their recipe cards... then we were rewarded when it was time to swap!
Bliss starts the swapping...

Take one and pass it down...

Recipe Cards

What I love about Storybook Creator Plus (Creative Memories' digital scrapbooking software) the most is that I can become my very own graphic designer.  Seriously, this is way better (and more intuitive to use) than Photoshop. I just finished up some recipe cards for our workshop tomorrow. Special thanks to our participants that sent in their recipes! The cards were created using the Nancy O'Dell Recipe digital kit and will be printed as 4x6 photos at Costco.

Don't all of these recipes sound amazing?!  I don't cook at all (*gasp*) but reading these recipes does inspire me a little bit.  Let me know if you're interested in a recipe book kit... Hope to post pictures of our finished product after tomorrow's workshop!

Craft Fair Recap

After watching an amazing Rainbow Wahine Volleyball victory last night (thanks, DVR!), I was all packed and ready for today's craft fair.  I've learned over the years that sometimes less is more...

This morning, Tina and I started setting up at 8:30 am at Mililani Rec Center 5.  We had lots of goodies for sale!

and Tina's Delicate Desserts side.
Overall, we were blessed by a steady stream of customers.  Thank you to those friends that made the special trip out to visit us.  Until next year...!
